Thanks to Charlie for creating a great Power Point about his experience of being stuck in Heathrow with 50,000 other passengers on Sunday 10th December due to the snow.

Ella also decided to focus on the weather and brought us a great Power Point also about how Storm Caroline sent temperatures to some parts of the UK to -14 degrees.

Good job guys!

News Reporters week commencing 11th December

The news reporters this week are Charlie and Ella.

Last week, Lewis brought us the fascinating story of the Supermoon which appeared on Sunday.  Lewis spotted the moon in the sky and decided to do some research on it.  He discovered that a Supermoon is 30% brighter than the normal moon and is a time when the moon is closest to our planet.  Well done Lewis!  Archie also made an excellent Power Point about Hill House in Helensburgh.  This home, designed by Charles Rennie MacIntosh is in danger of crumbling so a 4 million pound walkway is to be built around the outside in 2018 to try to preserve it.  Thanks Archie!

Last week, Matthew brought us the fascinating story about the active volcano in Bali, Mount Agung and how 100,00 people have been ordered to evacuate the area for their own safety.  Reis also brought us the tragic story about a 5 year old boy who was left unattended by his parents at a water park in England and who sadly drowned.

Good fact checking boys!

Visit from SPCA 16th November

Alec from the SPCA came in to speak to us about the role of the SPCA in caring for animals from rescue through to release back into the wild.  He gave us some advice on what to do if we come across a wild animal that is injured.  We then played snakes and ladders which taught us some interesting facts about animals along the way.
