Homework week commencing 5th March

There will be no new maths or spelling homework issued this week, instead, last week’s homework will just be collected in this Friday (9th March).  Your World Book Day quiz questions can be handed in any time before this.  We will also hear Murron and Calum’s news report on Friday too.

What I do need you to do this week is to start to learn the lyrics and tune to two songs which we will be performing at a whole school show on 24th and 25th April.  The theme of this year’s show is ‘musicals’ and our musical is ‘Sunshine on Leith’ which is a story set in Edinburgh based on the songs of the Proclaimers.  Our two songs are entitled ‘Sunshine on Leith’ and ‘Life with You’.  You have been given a copy of the lyrics but you should also visit the YouTube pages to see the official music video and begin to learn the tune.

News Reporters week commencing 26th February

The news reporters this week are Murron and Calum Poynts.

Last week Yuvraj brought us the story of the temporary closure of 900 KFC restaurants across the country.  KFC have recently changed their courier and there was a problem with delivering the chicken to the restaurants on time.  Niamh also brought us the story of Lizzy Yarnold, who took skeleton gold at the Winter Olympics and was the first Britain to successfully defend her title from the previous Olympics.  Thank you for those very different and interesting stories.

Marc brought us a fascinating story and brilliant pictures about a man in Edinburgh who was bitten by a spider in his garage and got an infection in his arm.  Marc then informed us that there are 650 species of spider in the UK and only 12 are harmful.  Great story Marc!
