Making rain science experiment 5th October

On Friday we filled a glass with water almost to the top, put shaving cream on the top to represent a cloud and then we added some food colouring on top.  The food colouring represented water.  As we watched, the food colouring sank through the cloud and ‘rained’ into the cup.  We learned that clouds can only hold so much water and when they are full they burst and that is how we get rain or precipitation as we now know it’s called.
