What Is a Rights Respecting School?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The UNICEF UK\u00a0Rights\u00a0Respecting\u00a0Schools Award (RRSA) is based on principles of equality, dignity,\u00a0respect, non-discrimination and participation.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0rights-respecting\u00a0school is a community where children\u2019s\u00a0rights\u00a0are learned, taught, practised,\u00a0respected, protected and promoted. Young people and the school community learn about children\u2019s\u00a0rights\u00a0by putting them into practice every day.<\/p>\n

At CPS we are a proud Gold RRS and believe that when children learn about their rights, it\u2019s equally important they develop a deeper understanding of what rights truly mean. That\u2019s why we teach them the ABCDE of rights \u2014 a framework designed to help them connect with the principles behind the words.<\/p>\n
