This award recognises our commitment to placing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of school life, improving wellbeing and helping all children realise their full potential.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some comments from our inspection report:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It was evident that children\u2019s rights are embedded across the school and underpin every facet of school life.&#8221; UNICEF Report October 2025<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It recognises the work that duty-bearers; teachers, staff and other adults, do to ensure that all children can access their rights as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Pupils know they have a voice and that their views matter.\u00a0 There are many opportunities for children to be involved in decision making and leadership in different areas of school life.&#8221; UNICEF Report October 2025<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A rights respecting school not only teaches about children\u2019s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers \/ adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;A strong focus on health and wellbeing; children were very clear that the school keeps them safe and supports them to be healthy.&#8221; UNICEF Report October 2025<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>&#8220;A caring and inclusive ethos where staff and children ensure that everyone particularly those with learning differences or a disability feel supported and fully involved in school life.&#8221; UNICEF Report October 2025<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Achieving Gold Status Demonstrates That Our School Community:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Children and the wider school community understand the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and can explain how children&#8217;s rights influence their lives and the lives of children across the world.<\/li>\n<li>Decisions and actions affecting children are guided by children&#8217;s rights. Young people and the school community learn about children\u2019s\u00a0rights\u00a0by putting them into practice every day.<\/p>\n<p>At CPS we are a proud Gold RRS and believe that when children learn about their rights, it\u2019s equally important they develop a deeper understanding of what rights truly mean. That\u2019s why we teach them the ABCDE of rights \u2014 a framework designed to help them connect with the principles behind the words.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABCDE of Rights<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marlow-infant.bucks.sch.uk\/_site\/data\/files\/images\/auto_upload\/27D66F12F8056B1295E6BCA18584CAD8.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We work hard to embed the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into every aspect of school life. From the classroom to the playground, children are not only taught about their rights \u2014 they live them. This means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\ud83d\udde3\ufe0f <strong>Voice and Agency<\/strong>: Pupils are encouraged to express their views, take part in decision-making, and actively shape their learning environment, through Pupil Voice groups and as a member of CPS.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83e\udd1d <strong>Respect and Relationships<\/strong>: We foster a culture of mutual respect, where kindness, empathy, and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf0d <strong>Global Citizenship<\/strong>: Children learn to see themselves as part of a wider world, understanding their responsibilities and the impact they can have beyond the school gates. The Global Goals have a powerful and complementary impact on CPS as a Rights Respecting School \u2014 they help bring children\u2019s rights to life in a global context and deepen pupils\u2019 understanding of their role as active citizens.<\/li>\n<li>A Rights Respecting School encourages pupils to understand their rights and responsibilities.
