Welcome to Primary 7! 🌟

Our Primary 7 pupils have settled in brilliantly and are already embracing the excitement of being at the top of the school. We are so excited for the year ahead and all the fun, learning, new experiences and responsibilities that come with being senior pupils.

There is lots to look forward to, from exciting learning opportunities to taking on new leadership roles and making memories along the way. We can’t wait to see our Primary 7 pupils grow in confidence, independence and responsibility throughout the year.

Stay tuned to see what we get up to! 🚀

Class Charter 🌟

Chatelherault Primary is a Gold Rights Respecting School, and our Primary 7 pupils have been learning about their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

The children explored Article 12 – the right to give their opinions and have them taken seriously. They shared ideas for our Class Charter theme before using their voices to vote and make a democratic decision.

Together, they created a display highlighting our rights and actions we can take to show respect for the rights of others, with every child represented and contributing to its creation.

Our Class Charter is a reminder that everyone’s voice matters and we can respect and uphold the rights of others. 💛

September 2026 🌟

What a fantastic first full month in P7! We have been developing key Meta-Skills, including focusing, critical thinking and collaboration. Ask us at home how we have been using these skills in our learning!

Our Right of the Month has been Article 28 – The Right to Education, and we have certainly been making the most of our opportunities to learn, explore and challenge ourselves.

Literacy 📚 : We have loved The Elsewhere Emporium! We became literary detectives, using critical thinking, inference and evidence to deepen our understanding and investigate the mystery of who stole the Emporium. We have also enjoyed relaxing and exploring new books during our library visits.

"" "" "" "" ""

Numeracy 🔢 : We explored why maths matters through place value, large numbers and Global Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy. We explored renewable energy and discovered how mathematics helps us understand and communicate important information about the world around us. During Maths Week Scotland, we showcased our learning through podcasts, quiz shows and board games, with some of our families joining us to celebrate our learning.

"" "" ""

Science 🌱 : We have been exploring biodiversity, interdependence and ecosystems, taking our learning outdoors into our school woods. We have loved investigating our own areas and discovering how living things are connected.
