Welcome to Roo<\/strong>m 11 <\/strong><\/span>Primary 3!<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

General Information<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Please ensure you have a pair of shoes such as plimsolls or trainers to change into inside the school building.\u00a0 Time spent outdoors and in the woods means that outdoor shoes make the carpets dirty! Our House Captains will carry out spotchecks and you can earn points for your House by making sure you have your indoor shoes on!<\/p>\n

Our P.E.<\/strong> days are a Tuesday<\/strong> and Friday<\/strong> so please remember your P.E. Kit.\u00a0 – blue polo shirt and navy\/black shorts. If your indoor shoes are plimsolls, you can bring a separate pair of trainers for P.E. as the hall floor can be quite slippy when running in plimsolls. Crocs cannot be worn as gym shoes.<\/p>\n

To stay hydrated, children can bring a bottle of water to school.\u00a0 Water is encouraged as it is the healthiest option.\u00a0 Please avoid juice in bottles.\u00a0 If juice is in the bottle, it can be taken at break and lunch.\u00a0 Children will be given the option to get a cup from the office should they need a drink of water during class time if they have juice in their bottle.<\/p>\n

Homework \/ Diary<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Homework will be issued on a Monday and can be returned any time during the week.\u00a0 All homework should be returned no later than Friday.\u00a0 I appreciate how busy life is so if homework cannot be completed, please put a note in the diary.\u00a0 Children, please take pride in completing your homework just as you would in the classroom.\u00a0 The children and myself will add a comment about our behaviour, work or effort each week in the diary.\u00a0 Parents \/ Carers should discuss this with the child\u00a0 when the diary comes home on a Monday and then add your comment.<\/p>\n

August<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n

Meta-Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have been learning about meta-skills. We have been learning about how to use the skills focusing, creativity<\/strong> and initiative<\/strong>.\u00a0 Parent \/ carer, please ask your child about these skills and how they have been using them in the classroom.<\/p>\n

Forest Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have our forest school sessions on a Thursday<\/strong> between break and lunch.\u00a0 Please remember to bring outdoor clothing and a change of (old) shoes.\u00a0 We go out even when it’s cold and raining.\u00a0 These sessions are child-led and allow them\u00a0 opportunities to develop a variety of skills through hands-on interaction with the natural world.\u00a0 The children love their time in the woods.<\/p>\n
