Outdoor learning and time in the woods can make outdoor shoes muddy, and we want to keep our carpets clean. Our <strong>House Captains<\/strong> will carry out spot checks \u2014 wearing indoor shoes helps earn <strong>House Points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2642\ufe0f P.E. Days \u2014 Tuesday &amp; Friday<\/strong> Children should bring their P.E. kit on these days:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Blue polo shirt<\/li>\n<li>Navy or black shorts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your child wears plimsolls indoors, they may bring <strong>separate trainers<\/strong> for P.E. as the hall floor can be slippy. Please note: <strong>Crocs cannot be worn as gym shoes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udca7 Water Bottles<\/strong> Children are encouraged to bring <strong>water<\/strong> to stay hydrated throughout the day. Water is the healthiest option, so please avoid juice in bottles. If juice is brought in, it can be taken at <strong>break and lunch only<\/strong>. If a child needs water during class time, they can get a cup from the office.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>\ud83d\udcd8 Homework &amp; Diary<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcdd Homework<\/strong> Homework is issued every <strong>Monday<\/strong> and can be returned any time during the week. All homework should be handed in by <strong>Friday<\/strong>. If homework cannot be completed, please write a short note in the diary \u2014 life gets busy and that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n<p>Children are encouraged to take pride in their homework, just as they do in class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcd6 Weekly Diary Comments<\/strong> Each week, your child and I will add a comment about their behaviour, work, or effort. Please read and discuss this with your child when the diary comes home on Monday, then add your own comment.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><strong>\ud83c\udf43 August\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>\u2728 Meta\u2011Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This month, we have been learning all about <strong>meta\u2011skills<\/strong> \u2014 the important skills that help us learn, think and grow. We have been exploring:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li><strong>Focusing<\/strong> \u2013 paying attention and staying on task<\/li>\n<li><strong>Creativity<\/strong> \u2013 thinking in new and imaginative ways<\/li>\n<li><strong>Initiative<\/strong> \u2013 trying things independently and having a \u201cgive it a go\u201d attitude<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Parents \/ carers:<\/strong> please ask your child about these skills and how they have been using them in the classroom. They love sharing what they\u2019ve been learning.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>\ud83c\udf32 Forest Schools<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Every <strong>Thursday<\/strong>, between break and lunch, we head to the woods for our Forest School sessions. Please remember:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Outdoor clothing<\/li>\n<li>A change of <strong>old shoes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We go out <strong>in all weather<\/strong> \u2014 even cold and rain!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These sessions are <strong>child\u2011led<\/strong>, giving children the chance to explore, problem\u2011solve and develop a wide range of skills through hands\u2011on experiences in nature.
