The full version can be found by clicking on the link below..

Dear Parents/Carers
I very much hope that all families had a relaxing September weekend.

Meet the Teacher Event

Thank you to the parents/carers who attended our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event on Thursday 22 September 2022. We received a good level of feedback from parents/carers from this event. If you were unable to give feedback at the time then an email has been sent out to all parents/carers with a Google Form to
complete to submit your feedback. Thank you for your support. Your feedback is important.  We would value all responses to be submitted by Wednesday 12 October 2022.

Autumn Weather
As the season changes and the colder weather arrives, please ensure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing, clearly marked with their name. We always try to allow the children outdoor breaks when possible.

Participatory Budgeting Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 4 October 2022 at 2pm. All parents/carers who would like to be
involved in suggesting what this fund should be used for are welcome to attend. During this week’s meeting all attendees will agree on a short list of possibilities for spending. You will receive a link to cast your vote. We ask that all parents/carers complete this as soon as possible.

Walk on and Well-being Wednesdays
As part of our strategy to promote pupil wellbeing and to encourage positive action in reducing pollution we will be continuing to encourage pupils to ‘Walk on Wednesdays’ and to bring a healthy snack to school.

Parent Consultations
We look forward to welcoming you to our Parent Consultations which will be held on Thursday 10 November from 3.30 until 8.30 pm. Parents will have a one to one (7 minute) appointment with their child’s class teacher to discuss their child’s progress with learning as well as their behaviour/attitude in school. Parents will also have an opportunity to look at a variety of their child’s classwork so far this session.

Beat The Street

As most of you know by now, the pupils, staff and families of Cathkin Primary are involved with the ‘Beat the Street’ initiative. On Monday the 6th of September Raymond Hood, the Beat the Street coordinator for our area, joined us at out virtual assembly to explain the initiative and how to get involved. Our Junior Road Safety Officers Emma and Charlie did a great job distributing the fobs, cards and maps to classes which were sent home last Monday. They also attended the launch at Cambuslang Park last Wednesday.

We hope everyone enjoys the competition and gets walking. The health benefits of the competition are amazing, not to mention the positive contribution to looking after our local environment by walking instead of using transport.

It would be a fantastic achievement to win the competition or even individual prizes for pupils, so put on your shoes and let’s be the winning walkers!

The competition runs until October the 27th – so let’s get out there and “Beat the Street”!

Good luck everyone!
