Week Beginning 1.6.20

Hi Everyone,

We hope you all had a lovely weekend in the beautiful sunshine, it was gorgeous! Did any of you watch the Space X  and Dragon launch on Saturday?

Please keep in regular contact with us sharing your learning. You don’t have to wait until a Friday to get in touch- check in when you can.  The check in post is active all week and you can email us examples of your work at any time.

Find below all of this weeks tasks.

This weeks suggested tasks are below, remember your  tasks will be allocated to your working groups and some for everyone to complete. Please check you complete the tasks only for your groups. There is also a new  activity grid which will run for 4 weeks (we are now on week  3 of this). In it there are additional suggested activities which you can choose to do.

You can also go online to Sumdog and Study ladder to complete activities too. Each page has allocated activities on them or you can play general games. We have been checking in on progress and can see how you are doing.

Spelling

Bananas: common words

screamed, seem, bought, whole, opened, leaves, gone, television, mouse, mice, squirrel, wonderful, without, spelling, greater

Task 1:  Make a word search containing as many of your words as you can. Can you get someone in your family to solve it?

Task 2: Rainbow write each of your words

Task 3.Write each of your words out making all the vowels blue.

 

 Oranges: Revision of  ph and aw

Phil, phone, phoneme, elephant, photograph, jaw, draw, hawk, crawl, awful, saw

Task 1:  Say, Make, Break, Read, Write your words.

Task 2: If you have shaving foam, write you words in it (you could also use flour or rice)

Task 3: Try to write 4 words in interesting sentences.

 

Literacy

During ‘Lockdown’ which Film have you really enjoyed watching. This week we are asking you to be a film critic and write a review of a film you’ve watched recently. Was it good? Why? Use the template below to guide you.

Health and Well being

We should be grateful of so many things in our lives. Have a think about what you are grateful for and fill in a Bedtime Gratitude card.

Inter Disciplinary Learning: Topic Rainforests

Tropical Rainforests are currently being destroyed. There are many reasons for this. People and animals are loosing their homes. Plants are being lost which could be used in medicines.

Task 1: Watch the following video clip, it contains some good information about deforestation.

Task 2: Can you read the statement cards and make a decision if the statement is for or against the destruction of Rainforests. Sort the cards into two columns

Task 3: Choose one backpack template and imagine you are about to explore a Rainforest for the first time, what would you need with you.
