{"id":532,"date":"2020-01-14T12:07:07","date_gmt":"2020-01-14T12:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sl\/tinto\/?page_id=532"},"modified":"2025-06-07T19:40:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-07T18:40:04","slug":"houses-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sl\/blackwoodprimaryschool\/houses-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Houses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have three houses: <strong>Beech, Oak &amp; Sycamore.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pupils are organised into houses by the first initial of their surname.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Beech<\/span><\/strong>: surnames beginning with letters A-G<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #00ff00\">Oak<\/span><\/strong>: surnames beginning with letters H-M<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Sycamore<\/span><\/strong>: surnames beginning with letters N-Z<\/p>\n<p>Each House has a captain and vice captains. Pupils can receive points from\u00a0school staff\u00a0for their houses by following school rules and showing themselves to be Successful Learners, Responsible Citizens, Confident Individuals or Effective Contributors.<\/p>\n<p>The house captains and vice captains gather together the points from across the school on a Friday and the weekly total and running total for each house is announced at assembly on a Monday.\u00a0 At the end of each term the pupils in the house with the most points receive a reward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have three houses: Beech, Oak &amp; Sycamore.
