Keeping Children Safe \u2013 SIMOA<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Ballerup we have our SIMOA mascot who reminds us about how to keep safe when we are at nursery and at home. Our children have created a SIMOA song for when we are accessing our local community, SIMOA can be used in a wide range of ways from closing doors, ensuring food is not too hot to preventing choking incidents. The SIMOA campaign helps us to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our children.<\/p>\n

SIMOA says be:<\/p>\n

S<\/u><\/strong>afe<\/u><\/strong>
\nBe alert to all potential risks in your setting.<\/p>\n

I<\/u><\/strong>nspect<\/u><\/strong>
\nLook around and inspect the environment to make sure a child can\u2019t leave an area without staff or their parent\/carer.<\/p>\n

M<\/u><\/strong>onitor<\/u><\/strong>
\nRegularly check that all children are accounted for particularly when they are outside, on outings or using transport.<\/p>\n

O<\/strong>bserve<\/strong>
\nObserve children and think about their feelings and emotional security \u2013 use these observations to support children to feel loved and secure.<\/p>\n

A<\/u><\/strong>ct<\/u><\/strong>
\nAssess and take action to keep children safe.<\/p>\n
