Homework

To tie in with our Fairtrade Week, I would like you to have a look around your house and/or supermarket and list 5 food items which come from abroad. have this for Wednesday. Have a go at the quiz on the lunch menu.

Last week, I asked mums and dads to write a short piece of writing. This week, I would like you to discuss the criteria with them and VCOP their story.

Maths: Complete page 1 and 2 of the booklet for Tuesday. More work will be given throughout the week. Keep revising for the test.

P7 remember to research a little more about Evacuation.

Busy Week!

This week we will be looking at Fairtrade. On Wednesday, there will be an opportunity for the pupils to buy Fairtrade items. On Thursday there will be a special Fairtrade school lunch.

On Thursday, a number of pupils will be attending the crosscountry event. Good luck!

Maths:

P6 will be revising for their test.

P7 will be revising mental strategies for addition and subtraction. Remember to keep trying these at home.

Language:

P6 will be reading Wreck of the Zanzibar.

This week we will spend time looking at Robert Burns. I’d like you to come up with a biography of his life and display this. You can also choose from the following 2 tasks.

1) Learn and recite a Burn’s poem (you can have the sheet in front of you)

2) Write a poem in the style of Burns.

Another busy week for P6/7.

Trip

  • Visit to Science Centre on Thursday. Remember to bring a packed lunch.

Maths

  • P6 will be learning about fractions. We will look at equivalent fractions and how to simplify.
  • P7 will be learning a little more about formulae. We will delve a little more into algebra.

Language

  • We will write our reply to Cathkin this week. We will continue to use VCOP.
  • We will try to complete our novels this week.

Topic

  • Hopefully we will complete our Model School. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
