After looking at the world’s tallest towers we worked in a group to try and build a tall tower of our own. We came across a few problems and had to solve them along the way.

We looked at a model of a helicopter and then adapted it in order to improve it. This is what an engineer would do.

This term we are thinking like engineers. We have been working on lots of STEM tasks with groups and partners and will be undertaking the Scottish Engineering Leader Award. If anyone has an engineering background and would like to help out please contact me.

Well done to everyone on a successful enterprise project. We will be having a pop up shop on Tuesday and Wednesday to sell leftover goods and will announce our total profit soon.

P5/6 will be selling products at the Enterprise. A letter has been sent home asking if your child can help out on the day (7th of December) – please send this back ASAP.

In Maths we will continue to look at different strategies for mental subtraction. Keep revising this at home to improve.

In Literacy we are working on a finding tale. We’re hoping to magpie lots of ideas and add lots of good description and techniques.

We will be working hard on our products for the Enterprise.

Spelling – spelling rule “soft g before e,i,y”

imagine, giraffe, gymnastics, dangerous, apology, emergency, stranger, magic.

Vocabulary words – elite, gullible, alleviate.

Write at least 3 sentences using your spelling words and write a sentence for each one of your vocabulary words.

Maths booklet – work your way through at your own pace.
