P7 Cathkin sports
All P7 pupils will be attending the mini sports at Cathkin High School tomorrow morning. Please bring a full PE kit (suitable for being outdoors) and a snack. You will return for lunch.

Spelling – learn to spell the words and understand their meanings. 3 WOW sentences.
Food – As it is Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, create a Scottish 3 course menu. Feel free to cook it to and upload any photos to the blog.
Maths – Sumdog. Try to complete your 1000 questions at least. I’ll keep a wee eye on our class leaderboard too.

Our week.
Maths
P6 have been looking at mental and written strategies for addition and subtraction.
P7 have been looking at place value to 1000000.
We’re also taking part in the Sumdog Scottish competition.
Language
We have been looking at similes and coming up with our own interesting ones to use in poems.
Topic
In groups, we have been looking at cities in Japan and will be telling our classmates about them.
PE
We were learning to match, mirror and canon with a partner during gymnastics.

Reading to the P2/3s.
The Week Ahead!
On Wednesday we will read to the infant department. Please bring in stories as discussed.
In Maths, P6 will be learning more about place value of numbers to 1 million and P7 will complete rounding work and a little revision of previous topics before moving into Tee Jay work.
In language, we will continue to read The Iron Man whilst looking at author techniques, reading strategies and thinking skills. We will also be writing instructions on how to build a paper helicopter.
We will begin our topic of Japan. Have a think about anything you would like to learn.
