Nine year old Bruno has no idea about the Holocaust. All Bruno knows is that he has been moved form his comfortable house in Berlin to a small house far from home. Outside his window he sees men. Half are dressed in fancy suits and the others in striped pyjamas. Bruno was staring out the window and saw the bench that had been there since they arrived. Walking towards it he realised it said, “Out-with Concentration camp, opened June 1940.” He doesn’t know what it means but walks on for miles, when he see’s a speck that becomes a boy.
