Al Capone Shines My Shoes

Written by Gennifer Choldenko

“The gardener. He worked over here . Piper said he got released from terminal island a few weeks ago.”
This is a book about a family that live on Alcatraz Island with the most wanted cons ever. Mathew “moose” Flanagan is trying to get his sister in to a really good school on the main land but things get sticky. You should never mess with cons as moose finds out. I like this book because the book is very good at making you think you are there in the book you fell the fear the happiness every thing seems so real I love it. If you are going to read this book I think that you should read the first book.

  1. Hi Aileen,
I really like that you have commented on why you love the book and what you think the reader will enjoy about it. I am sure the writer would be so pleased at your comment: “I like this book because the book is very good at making you think you are there in the book. You feel the fear, the happiness, everything seems so real. I love it.” Hooking the reader in to the story and making them really feel it is such a big part of what the writer is trying to do. A great review from you that has made me want to go and read that book. Thank you!

  2. Good advice to new readers Aileen. I also like how you have started your review with a quotation. That always gives the reader a flavour of the book. Well done.
