For a moment, my eyes are dazzled by the bright sunlight and I’m conciousonly of a strong wind with a hopeful smell of pine trees. Then I hear the legendary announcer, Claudius Templesmith, as his voice booms all around me.
‘Ladies and gentlemen, let the seventy-fourth Hunger Games begin!’
When Katniss Everdeen heard her sister Primrose (Prim for short) got chosen for the seventy-fourth Hunger Games, Katniss panics and stands in place for Prim. Her and twenty three other got their names picked out of the bowl. Now they are fighting to the death. Twelve boys, Twelve girls, only one winner… Then after twelve tributes are left, the Gamemakers decideto let two people win (a boy and a girl from the same District). Katniss heard the new rule and started shouting out Peeta Mellark’s name. But she rememberedthat she almost killed him, then she met an old and evil friend…
This is and amazing, magnificently great book with humour, violence and a lot of blood. It is also going to be a major film on the 24th March. It is one of the best books I’ve read in ages.
