{"id":5638,"date":"2023-03-08T08:19:02","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T08:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/whalsayschoolweb\/?p=5638"},"modified":"2023-03-08T08:33:53","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T08:33:53","slug":"wintery-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/whalsayschoolweb\/2023\/03\/08\/wintery-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Wintery Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are a few ideas in addition to what\u2019s already on the Home Learning Blog for this lovely wintery Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ms Simpson would normally be in today so she has suggested the following activities for Primary, also suitable for nursery and secondary ages.<\/p>\n<p>Watch these 2 clips of Vivaldi\u2019s from \u2018Winter, Four seasons\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Qqe0GdUpJHs\">Allegro<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GNeAbvvmwxI\">Largo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; speak about which clip you prefer with your family<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; listen to your favourite piece and draw a picture, what do you imagine when listening to the music<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; put it on again and play outside!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEM Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a look at this <a href=\"http:\/\/jo-jacks.com\/vitruvian-man-activity-da-vinci-kids\/\">site<\/a> about De Vinci\u2019s Vitruvian Man for indoor activites, then go outside and see if you can make a Vitruvian Man snow angel. Take a photo and share it on the school facebook post.<\/li>\n<li>Build a snow sculpture and measure height\/width &#8211; share a photo on the Facebook post<\/li>\n<li>Build an igloo or snow cave &#8211; post us a photo of you inside<\/li>\n<li>Measure the depth of the deepest fan outside your house &#8211; you can use a tape measure, stick, yourself. Again feel free to post a photo on the facebook page.<\/li>\n<li>Make a few small snowmen in different bowls\/tubs and take them inside.
