Anti-Bullying Week 2021 – One Kind Word

Anti-Bullying Week is an annual event which takes place in the UK in the third week of November. It aims to raise awareness about bullying of children and young people, in schools and elsewhere, and to highlight ways of preventing it and responding to it.

It is coordinated by Respect Me, Scotland’s anti bullying service.  Their vision is to stop bullying and create safer environments in which children and young people can live, grow, play and learn.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2021 is One Kind Word.

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us. This is one of the reasons that One Kind Word has been chosen as the theme of Anti-Bullying Week 2021, which takes place from 15th November to 19th November.

S1 have been thinking and talking about both bullying and kindness during their PSE lessons this week, and how positive actions and words can halt hurtful behaviour in its tracks.

They have created Kindness bunting to remind us all that one kind word leads to another and also that kindness fuels kindness.
