In our staff meetings next year I want to spend some time thinking about important questions for the school:<\/p>\n

What do we value \u2013 what is important to the school community?<\/p>\n

What do Whalsay bairns need to know in the 21st<\/sup> century?<\/p>\n

What skills do Whalsay bairns need to in the 21st<\/sup> century?<\/p>\n

How can we make Whalsay school the best it can be and hold on to what is good about it at the moment?<\/p>\n

To help us in our discussions we will be asking pupils and parents what they think about these questions as well.<\/p>\n

I want to start off with the positives and that is why I am asking parents and carers today to help us by completing our Achievement Day survey. It asks you to list 3 things that you value about Whalsay school at the moment or 3 things you think the school is good at. You can fill it in online \u2013 the link is below. Or if you prefer, there are paper copies to fill in next to the School Magazine stand in the foyer.<\/p>\n
