Just in case anyone missed this in last week’s Shetland Times, congratulations to Ellie Sandison on winning this competition:<\/p>\n

Whalsay School pupil Ellie Sandison recently won significant prizes for herself and for the school. Earlier in the year Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) ran a competition to design an advert for a job in the Land Based Sector. Participating in the competition helped to raise pupils\u2019 awareness of jobs in the Rural Sector and also the importance of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Ellie produced an advert for an Environmental Consultant and Bridgid Edmonstone from SRUC said she was the very worthy winner out of 100s of entrants from schools across Scotland. The school was delighted to present Ellie with her Winner\u2019s Certificate and prize of \u00a3200 of Amazon vouchers and to accept \u00a3100 of vouchers for the school.<\/p>\n
