Civic Soup are a Design Collective from Edinburgh who have been commissioned by Shetland Arts to create one of four art installations that will form a trail in Lerwick.  The project is called LOCUS and is being organised by Living Lerwick in partnership with Shetland Arts.  Civic Soup are going to be working with around 4 schools across Shetland to create their art installation which will be situated on the Hillhead in Lerwick.

On Thursday, they visited our S1 Art class for the first of 2 sessions.  In the workshop everyone was given an individual section of a Shetland jumper,  they then had to translate the pattern into simple basic shapes.  We are really pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this public art project and watch their ideas develop further in the next session.
