Cooking with Shetland Lamb 2

Today S3 Health & Food Technology pupils, Emma, Jolene, Ava, Eleanor, Lori, Kirsty and Faye,  have had the opportunity to cook with Shetland Lamb, as part of the campaign to make Scotch Lamb synonymous with celebrating St Andrews Day, the Patron Saint of Scotland, and encourage people in Scotland to make Scotch Lamb the national dish for St Andrews Day.

The campaign also reinforces the message to the pupils of the importance of eating this locally-produced, healthy food and to educate pupils about the role of red meat as part of a healthy balanced diet.

Our lamb was very generously provided by Shetland Livestock Marketing Group (SLMG), and pupils prepared Scotch Lamb Naan Pizzas, using Shetland Lamb leg steaks, a recipe provided by Quality Meat Scotland.

Kirsty said it was ‘ the best recipe she has ever made in HFT’ !

The recipe also worked really well with Quorn chunks.
