Scottish Maths Week 2020

This year we are celebrating Scottish Maths week in Nursery and Primary. It is a shame we are unable to have an Open Afternoon similar to last year but we do have a family maths challenge to keep you busy. Thank you to Mrs Constable for helping make up the challenge again. Oldest and only pupils took home the challenge yesterday and please read the information at the top of the sheet before you start. You have this week and next week to compete it and return the sheet by Friday 9th October to be entered into a prize draw.

If you want to email a photo of your bairns completing the challenge please email it to Whalsay@shetland.gov.uk with the subject ‘maths week’ or post a photo on this post on the school Facebook page.

Some classes are taking part in the Scottish Sumdog challenge so encourage your bairns to go on 10-15 mins a day. If you want to do some more at home, please have a look at the Numeracy page on the Home Learning blog where I have added a link to Scotland Learns which has some great ideas for numeracy at home and a challenge pack from Scottish Golf.

Good luck with the challenge
