Alison Shearer will be the SDS Careers Adviser working in our school this year. She will be coming in throughout the year to meet up with S4 pupils, to help them to identify and talk through their Career Management Skills https://www.skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk/what-we-do/scotlands-careers-services/career-management-skills-explained/ and help them to prepare for their transition to AHS or leaving school.
She will also be meeting up with S2 pupils prior to them choosing their subjects for S3 to help them to use the information on www.myworldofwork.co.uk so that pupils are able to research Career areas that interest them, and find out what subjects are required for different Jobs, Apprenticeships, College courses, University courses etc.
Currently there are no plans for SDS Careers Advisers to arrange face to face meetings with parents or attend parents evenings, so if any parents or carers would like to arrange a time to speak to Alison, please get in touch on the contact details below.
Alison’s working days are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 09:00 to 15:30
