We were fortunate to be awarded 2 training sessions for our pupils, funded by Gail Bray from Developing the Young Workforce (DYW).
Today, a group of pupils from S3 and S4 have completed Customer Care training, presented by Celia Smith from local company, Blyde Welcome, which arranges training in hospitality and tourism.
The pupils have completed a variety of exercises, including how to start conversations, the importance of body language and tone of voice, good listening skills and how to greet people.
Pupils will shortly receive a certificate which can be kept in their record of achievements.
I’m sure that their new skills will be very useful tomorrow at our Community CafĂ©, as well as in their future employment.
Next term, pupils in S2 will take part in Food Hygiene Training, also organised by Blyde Welcome.
