Fantastic way to finish off the term – lots of fun was had by all 😝
Month: March 2017
Easter Baking 🐣🍫
Erland – First we had to break the chocolate and put it in a bowl. We put it in a microwave to melt it.
Evie – Then we put golden syrup in to make it sticky. We poured it into a big bowl with cornflakes.
Aimee – We mixed it up together and then we choosed what colour of cases we wanted and then we put the mix in them.
Mason – We put Mini Eggs on the top of the crispies.
Ruby – They were excellent and really yummy!
Deadly 60 Rainforest Quiz 🐯🐸🐒🦇🐛🦋🐜🕷🐍🦎🐆🐅🌲🌴🌿🍃🌺
Ruby – We got into teams and we had to make a name for our group.
Cian – We did a Deadly 60 Quiz. We had to watch little clips of Steve and rainforest animals and then we had to answer a question about the animal we watched.
Robbie – Steve got bit by a black piranha and he had a bleeding thumb!
Alfie – Steve got bit by a bullet ant before.
Dhilan – My team got 12 out of 12 and I felt good and happy!
Lexie – We had a party to celebrate our last day together on our rainforest topic!
P1 News Writing 📒✏️👏🏼
Jenny – I did writing myself today. I sounded out words and writed them down. I feel happy and proud!
Evie – I writed it all by myself! My brain helped me because I know the letters. I feel good and awesome!
Where The Wild Things Are!
Lexie – The story is about a boy called Max. His bedroom turns into a jungle. He goes to a tropical island and it’s full of Wild Things. The Wild Things are like lots of different animals like chickens and bulls. He is the King of them.
Kiana – We looked at photos of Rainforest Animals. We spoke about different parts of them we could use when we made our own Wild Things.
Ruby – We used black paper and oil pastels. We did the head on one bit of paper. Then we did the body. The we did the legs and feet.
Erland – I used parts of ants and frogs and chameleons to make my Wild Thing. I think my Wild Thing looks funny and interesting!
Pancake Day!
Aimee – You need flour and eggs and milk to make the pancakes.
Casey – Then you had to put the mix in the pan. You know it is starting to cook when you see it changing colour and little bubbles come.
Cian – Then you need to flip it over with a spatula so the other side will cook. We put the pancakes on a cooling rack.
Cyrus – I had chocolate spread on my pancake. It was soft and it tasted good!
Number Bonds to 10 and 20
Alfie – Number bonds are 2 numbers that add to make 10 or 20. We played a number bond game using Alien and UFO cards. We had to turn over a card and then you would show everyone and you had to find the pair and if it was right you got to keep them and if it was wrong you had to put them back down on the table.
Mason – 0 + 20 = 20 and 20 + 0 = 20
Jenny – 8 + 2 = 10 and 2 + 8 = 10
Jared – 5 + 15 = 20 and 15 + 5 = 20
Rainforest Topic with P2/3 – What’s Your Favourite Animal?
Ollie – We got cards and we had to find people that had the same card as us. They were in my group!
Robbie – They were 4 creatures that you had to choose from. There was a Sloth and a Poisonous Frog and a Tiger and a Parrot. The oldest person in the group had to go around the other tables and everyone had to choose what they like best. I choosed the Sloth.
Dhilan – We had to cut out pictures of the animals. We had to cut out the number of votes. The Sloth had 7 votes. The Parrot had 5 votes. The Tiger had 4 votes. The Poisonous Frog had 15 votes. We had to stick the pictures on the graph.
Evie – The favourite animal was the Poisonous Frog. The Tiger only had 4 votes. I thought the Tiger would have the most! I felt good doing the graph with Luke and Erland and Merrin.
