Incy Wincy Spider – Experiment πŸ•·πŸ•·πŸ•·πŸ”Ž

Today we were finding out why spiders don’t get stuck in their own webs.

Jared – We needed sticky selotape, some pretend spiders and some oil.

Jenny – We made a web. We used sticky selotapeΒ with the sticky side on the top.

Ollie – We pretended our fingers were bugs.Β  We tried to walk on the selotape.Β  We got stuck!

Erland – Then we pretended to be spiders. We dipped our fingers in oil. We put our fingers on the selotape and it was slippery and we didn’t get stuck!

The sciencey bit…

Cyrus – Bugs and flies get stuck because the web is sticky.

Evie – Spiders don’t get stuck because they make a oil on their body so they can move about.
