Tingwall primary school play The 12 Days of Christmas Review by George
On the 10th of December 2015,the pupils of Tingwall Primary school had a school play. When I got in the set looked sensational! When the children came in I was astonished!
When the show started, one of the boys came out to the front and opened the show in a nice, loud, clear voice. After a phenomenal song the real play could begin. There were two different families one was called the Grimgrumps and one was called the Christmases. The Grimgrumps are the bad people but the Christmases are the good people, hurray!!!
The two families did not like each other this year the Grimgrumps wanted to ruin Christmas for the Christmases,Mr Grimgrump told Mr Christmas that the sleigh was delayed buy one hour so that he could capture the troupe. When the Christmases found out there was a big fight, but in the end they all made up and were good friends!!
I loved the bit when Mrs Grimgrump said that the Christmases were snooty and held up her nose.It was very funny! In the middle of the play the CD stopped playing and they had to change the disc then they carried on with the play.
I really liked all of the songs, but my favourite one of all of them is You might think its great being Father Christmas, because they all sung it nice and smoothly it was lovely!!
I think that Father Christmas and Nasty Grimgrump were the best, they astonished me buy having lots of lines and they remembered all of them.I cant believe it!!!
The best bit was when the children asked us to sing the christmas carols with them,I loved it.I think that the kids were spectacular.
In my opinion I would give the children 5 out of 5 because of how good they were! They were outstanding!!!
Twelve Days Of Christmas – Review by Freya
The Tingwall Primary School pupils did a mind-blowing performance of a play called ‘Twelve Days Of Christmas’ on Thursday the tenth of December.
The play was about a Christmas family who were Father Christmas ( Ryan Gerrard ) Mrs Christmas ( Freya Leslie ) and Mo ( Kara Sharp ) who loved everything about Christmas. Whereas the Grimgrump family hated Christmas. Mr Grimgrump ( Cian Irvine ) tried to steal Mr Partridges Amazing Performing Troupe because they were going to sing to the Christmas family. In the end they ended up listening to Mr Partridges Amazing Performing Troupe together and became friends.
In my opinion I thought the music was marvelous . It was loud and clear. The best song that they sung was ‘Packing Our Bags’ because they sung that song the loudest and the strongest.
I thought Mr Grimgrumps laugh was hilarious and everyone in the hall laughed when they heard it. There was only one part that went wrong during the show and it was the CD player when it made funny noises. But the staff fixed it very quickly.
I think Mr Partridge ( George Robesten ) acted brilliantly. He had a very loud voice. In my opinion he was the best performer.
The audience loved the play and were smiling and were happy after it had finished.
At the end they sung five Christmas Carols which were ‘ Away In A Manger’,’Silent Night ‘,’ Jingle Bells ‘,’Deck The Halls’ and ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’.
I think the Tingwall Primary pupils did a great performance so I’m going to give them 5/5.
‘The 12 Days of Chrsitmas!’ – Christmas Musical
On Thursday 10th December, Tingwall Primary pupils performed a musical in front of an audience at the hall.
It was a story about the Christmas Family and the Grimgrump Family. Nasty Grimgrump tried to ruin Christmas for Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas and Mo Christmas by stealing Mr Partridge’s Amazing Performing Troupe, who always came to the North Pole to sing to Mrs Christmas. At the end, they all agreed to be friends and enjoyed the music together.
We put in a lot of work rehearsing the play and making the backdrops and props for the show.
The concert was astonishing and everyone loved it! Apart from a stupid CD, everything went really well with great singing and acting!

On Friday 21st of November we did some fundraising for Type One Diabetes by all wearing our onesies to school.
We also brought home bakes in to sell at break-time. They where very yummy!
We set up stalls around the school. They were sport tombola, jungle tombola, snowball target, when will I wake up guessing game, penguin treasure hunt, guess the name of the teddy and an obstacle course in the hall.
We all had a blast!!! The most successful stall was the Jungle tombola organised by Lois and Ella. We raised £372.37! It was a very successful day and all for a good cause.

Netball Tournament – Netball Primary League
On Tuesday the 1st of Desember we went to a netball tournament at the Anderson High School.
We played against two schools which were Sandwick and Cunningsburgh. For our first game we played against Cunningsburgh. We won the game 3-0. Kaitlin played really well at GA and scored all 3! Our next game was against Sandwick and we lost 2-1, but we were so close. Amy got lots of interceptions at GK and Alisha scored the goal for Tingwall.
After our games we did training for an hour and we worked on our footwork skills. Then we played some challenges in teams with the ball. We had to move the ball over our heads and under our le, then we did running races. We had to run with the ball to the red line and back.
It was a super day! We met new friends and we had lots of fun. We can’t wait until our next game!!!
Bike Checks /JRSO Mission
On Monday 16th November we had a visit from Elaine Skinley. She is in charge of the Junior Road Safety Officers. She was giving us bike checks to see if our bikes were in good condition or bad condition. If they were in bad condition we would have had to put our bikes to the bike garage in Lerwick to improve them. We got given some lights for the front and back of our bikes to keep us safe at night in winter. We also got a checklist for our bikes to take home. After that the Primary 6s got pencils and the JRSO’s Ella, Amy and Lois got a mission… The mission was to hand out reflectors to the whole school!
