Me, Evan and Keisha made an animation about Evan going to the moon and me and Keisha were on the radio. When Evan puts the Tingwall primary school flag on the moon an alien takes him back to Earth.

Me, David and Brandon made this animation called Two Planets. We used an app called ZU3D to make the animation. It was quite a lot of work because first we had to make the storyboard and script. Then we had to make the backgrounds and characters and props. Once we had done all that we got to start filming. It took ages to film because we had to take a photo, move the characters a tiny bit and take another photo. We had to take about 200 frames. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed doing it.
We had to use our topic (space) to create an animation which I did whith Anya and Ashleigh.
Before we could make our animation we had to do a lot of work first. We looked at animations and what went into making them. Then we got into groups and thought of an idea of what we could do for our animation. We were asked to make a short animation about space and told there had to be at least 3 facts in it. We had to think about the plot, setting, characters, props and the script before making anything. Once we had all of that we got to start making the background, characters and props which was fun. Miss Nicholson showed us the app ZU3D on the Ipad, this is how we filmed our animation. It took a lot of frames to make our animation as we had to make sure there were enough images for our speech. We were the first group to finish our animation.
I was at fireworks night. There was a huge bonfire and lots and lots of fireworks. They were very good and they were all different colours like green and blue and gold. But there was no red ones. Suddenly… Right when I thought the fireworks were going to end a huge huge huge red one zoomed into the air. It was bigger and more colourful then the other fireworks. This one went higher and was faster. The firework stayed in the air much much longer then the rest of the fireworks did. Then I thought… This firework must be magic!
Today we looked at Remembrance Day and why we have it. We had a 2 minutes silence to remember those who was lost in the war. We also discussed why we wear poppies…
Remembrance Day is the 11th of November. At 11 o’clock on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 World War 1 ended.
We learned why poppies are the symbol of remembrance day…
Poppies were the only thing to grow in Flanders Fields – this is where a lot of fighting took place.
A man called John McCrae was so deeply moved by what he saw in Northern France that he wrote the famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields.’
We also learned the difference between the English and Scottish poppy.
The English poppy has 2 petals and a leaf whereas the Scottish poppy has 4 petals with no leaf. The Scottish don’t put a leaf on their poppy because it would cost more to make and they believe that this money can be better spent on supporting veterans.
Money raised from selling poppies help people who have been to war and survived and their families.
We all wrote our own Remembrance/Poppy acrostic poems and made our own poppies:
One sunny morning I woke up in my lovely cottage. I was walking to the kitchen but before I reached it I saw a door I had never seen before. I was curious so I opened it and behind it was the beach. It was so sunny, the sea was looking yellow.I went along the sand and I found a cave. Inside it was pitch black and then suddenly the cave lit up and I could see a woman. She had a long black dress trailing behind her, black and red sparkly shoes, a glowing staff, a black crown with particles floating around it and burning red eyes. She said her name was Cerca. She laughed an evil laugh and asked me what my name was and I said “Kanchana”. She came closer to me and very weirdly touched me and I fell into a porthole but just as I was going to go down in to it I heard Cerca saying “good luck in the time of myths and legends, ha ha ha”. I wondered what she meant because it looked like I was going to find out. At first it looked like I was in a desert but it turned out to be an arena. and I heard someone saying “little girl verses Hercules” and I was l was like “what or more like when”. Now I know what Cerca time of myth and legends because that’s what this place is, a place where myths and legends LIVE! I still have to battle Hercules. I heard he killed a three headed dog! I thought about weapons to kill him and it came to life. I had a shield as gold as all the riches in the world. I had a sword that looked as sharp as a machete. I used it like a dart and it cut right through his head, it was disgusting sight, blood spread everywhere. then I had to keep teleporting to different placesand having to defeat different myths and legends like medusa, pegasus and even a cyclops. the last teleport place was at a dark forest and there, on the top of a rock stood cerca and next to her was a person that I regonized. It was a friend from school but there was something different about her. She had BUTTERFLY WINGS! I said “hi” to Emily. Emily flew to me and said she was half butterfly-half human! It was a big shock. Cerca said the only way to go home was if I killed her. So I thought of a boy and Cerca burst into flames. Emily asked how I knew to do that? I said because girls in my class hate boys. THE END! Teacher that’s what I did this weekend!
One afternoon in my room I was reading a book and my mam came through and said come through to the sitting room immediatly! There was a terrible noise then … in the middle of the noise their was a big crash we took a look out the window there was a plane with lots of injured people so we had to call the ambulance for help. All of the people got to the hospital safely. 10 minutes later we were cleaning in the garden and I noticed something it was a chest with a golden lock without a key.
Once I was watching tv and I heard a noise, then in the middle of the noise there was a bang. I looked around then I heard it again, my mam said “did you hear the bang?” I said “yes I did” it was a big bang. I went through in to my kitchen and it was my cat jumpinmg on the bin. I said “you are a silly cat, you scared me! I thought someone was trying to prank me or for halloween.” The next day the same noise was there, this time there was a ghost I was scared!
This week I enjoyed reading because we were reading a non-fiction book about paint and it showed us different artists. We learned about pointillism which is when you paint by using little dots and we got to do a picture like that. I was doing a teddy bear sitting on the grass.
We took part in Roald Dahl’s Virtually Live programme this afternoon. Primary 6 and 7 came through to our classroom to watch it with us. We cleared the tables away when Miss Nicholson got it up on the whiteboard, we listened to part of ‘The Twits’ when we were waiting for the live programme to start. We counted down from 10 when the numbers came up on the whiteboard. We learned the different steps as to how the book is made, we listened to the man who was Roald Dahl’s official biographer answer questions about Roald Dahl and we learned how to draw Mr Twit. Here is a few of our quick sketches:
