We played a game called pair of pears. We got a piece of paper that said a word that is a homophone such as waist and waste. We had to find our partner. Then we got pear shapes and drew what they meant to create a Pair of Pears. It was very fun. 🙂

This week we were learning how to write instructions. Last week we learned what happened at an Aztec Sacrifice, then we wrote what to do. When we were done we wrote a recipe. I wrote how to make Spaghetti Bolognese.
We learned what to use when we are writing instructions. Bossy verbs were one of the things we learned. Bossy verbs (imperative) are telling people to do something like “go do this” or “go there now”. Another thing we learned was you need to write down what you will need to succeed. I really enjoyed writing instructions.

We got a visit from the SSPCA and if you do not know what that stands for its the Scottish Society Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They came to speak to us about looking after our pets. We have to take them to the vets and feed them properly. They said they get 500 calls a day about animal abuse.
We think this is very sad and that everyone should take care of animals!

We made Humpty Dumpty mobiles with Mrs Thomson.
You have to make two humptys and a wall or cracked shell and colour them in. We are going to present them to the Primary One and Twos. It was a bit tricky and fun at the same time.

On Tuesday 25th of November, We learned how to say days of the week and months of the year in French.
Lundi – Monday
Mardi – Tuesday
Mercredi – Wednessday
Jeudi – Thursday
Vendredi – Friday
Samedi – Saturday
Dimanche – Sunday.
It was fun learning a different language.

In Art on Friday the 28th of November we were working with clay.
We had multiple choice of what we could actually make, you could make a sheep pot, a fish, a turamundi pot or an African mask.
I made a sheep pot, first you have to make a sphere with the clay, next you have to make a big hole in the clay so it looks like a pot, the you turn it upside down and you get small pieces of clay, roll them out and stick them on the pot. We never got any farther then that.
I enjoyed making the sheep pots and I look forward to doing it next week. 🙂
