Bella and What She is Doing on the Book Blog…

I have a little sister called Bella. She is so, SO cute! Anyway, you may be wondering what on earth my little sister is doing on a blog about… books. Well, I wanted to introduce you to Bella so you can understand a post that will be posted soon. (Hint: It’s in the ‘short stories’ category.) The main thing is that she’s possesive. And I mean, like, push-her-best-friend-off-my-lap possesive. She hugs your knees when you’re going out, and tugs your hand when you’re going back in. She sits on your lap during breakfast and clutches you like a monkey when you want to go to bed. You get the picture….

I think that’s all you need to know. Bye bye.

I Want to Find Citrus by Sunni

This is based on I Want My Hat Back. A copy of this post can be found on the time machines blog.

Stealth Boy: I want to find Citrus. She put the time machine into hyper mode this morning. I need my revenge.

Stealth Boy: Have you seen Citrus? Courage Boy: No. I haven’t seen anything all day! I’ve been in my lab inventing! Stealth Boy: OK. Thank you anyway.

Stealth Boy: Have you seen Citrus? Typo and Error: No, master. Our scans do not detect Citrus. Stealth Boy: OK. Thank you anyway.

Stealth Boy: Have you seen Citrus? Commander Kitty: Wh-what?! No! I haven’t seen Citrus all… all week! I wouldn’t hide Citrus! Go look somewhere else! Wha- why are you asking me?! Go away! Stealth Boy: OK. Thank you anyway.

Stealth Boy: Have you seen Citrus? Silver Bat Boy: No, I- Hey! I thought we were enemies! Stealth Boy: Oh, sorry. You get back to your plotting.

Stealth Boy: Sigh. I can’t find Citrus anywhere! What if I never find her to get my revenge? She’ll have won! Super Boy: What’s wrong? Stealth Boy: I need to find Citrus to get my revenge, but I can’t find her anywhere! Super Boy: Can you still remember what she looks like? Stealth Boy: Yes. She has pink hair, a blue circle that looks exactly like the ones in the engine room, and- I HAVE SEEN CITRUS!!!! …*pant*… *puff*… You! You were hiding Citrus! Commander Kitty: I- KYAAAA!!

Some time later……

Courage Boy: Hey, Stealth Boy! Have you seen Commander Kitty anywhere? Stealth Boy: Wh-what?! No! I haven’t seen Commander Kitty all… all week! I wouldn’t Quantum Dagger Meteor Commander Kitty! Go look somewhere else! Wha- why are you asking me?! Go away! Courage BoyOK. Thank you anyway.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying yourselves. Maybe you got lots of cards, chocolates, flowers or teddy bears. But me? In a few hours I’ll be using my Valentine themed bath products.

I haven’t read any exciting new romantic books, so I’ll tell you a few facts instead. Like did you know the name Valentine’s Day comes from saint Valentine? Or that the image of a love heart comes from two human hearts joined together? Or that passion fruit is called that because- “Sunni! Why are you talking about PASSION FRUIT?!” If you listen, I’ll explain. The word passion means strong feeling for something or someone. For example, I have a passion for writing on this lonely little book blog! (By the way, we now have over 3 comments! Yay!) When you eat passion fruit, it makes you feel romantic for a few hours! I actually tried it once, and it worked! Wow!

Miss Mainland: Our Teacher

Miss Mainland is our teacher at school. She is fun and she is my favourite teacher! She actually set up the book blog for me.

In writing we always do different writing targets and are all in different groups (glitter pens, pencils, etc). In our most recent writing lesson we did similes and we made them more interesting by adding adjectives!

She also set up our class blog, Dhanial’s Time Machines blog, and Lewis’ Pokemon Blog (there are posts about these elsewhere in the ‘Home’ category.

Tokyo Mew Mew

OK, I know Tokyo Mew Mew is in my recent books and my favourite books page, but I love it so much I put it in a post anyway! I mean, It’s a manga, an anime and a video game! Who can’t love something like that?! Anyway, I still recommend this. My favourite character is Zakuro Aishiwara and my favourite book is the last one. But this isn’t in the discussion topics category for no reason! What do you think about it? Do you have the video game? Have you watched any of the anime? What is your favourite bit? Who is your favourite character? I could ask more questions, but that’s for you to do in the comments. Bye bye!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double Down

Hi Timo here and I am making a book review!

And I hope you enjoy!

At the start Greg was in the Champs, the Champs are working on their r words every Tuesday and Thursday but they were not focusing so Greg’s mom got him a privet teacher and he could say them but that meant that he didn’t need to be in the champ’s anymore so he faked to stay in but he let his guard down.

I’m not going to spoil the rest of the book so I’ll leave it there.

I enjoyed the book because It’s funny and very enjoyable.

That is the end of my book review!

goodbye!

Planning Your Stories

This post will be set into two parts: Plot and Main Character. You don’t have to read both, but it is advisable.
——————————————————————————————————————-
Plot
To write a gripping story that makes the reader want to know what happens next, it is advisable to know how it will end. Try to include lots of small, insignificant details that can be turned into a plot twist. For example, early on in the story the main character could pass a farm with 4 chickens in it. At the end the chickens could save your main character from falling to their death. To make it not so obvious what will be mentioned later, make sure it is not the only detail. For example, the main character could also pass a supermarket, a volcano and a church.
——————————————————————————————————————-
Main Character
Building on your main character’s background is also a good idea. If you give the reader a bit of information about the character and then, later on, another bit of information, the reader will have to string together those bits of information to uncover things they might not know about the main character. This also allows the reader to make theories about what will happen next. If the reader sees through the main character’s eyes during the story, however, you could sometimes make the main character see things that will make them remember something about their past.
You may want to have your main character meet others that can become main characters too. For example, they could save another’s life. The one whose life they have saved would pledge ever-standing gratitude and accompany them on their mission.
——————————————————————————————————————-
That is all I have to say now. I hope it helps you in some way. Feel free to tell me your way of planning a story in a comment. Goodbye!

Diaries and Why I Like Them!

Keeping a diary is great fun. Not only does it record your thoughts and feelings, but (for me at least) it makes you feel relaxed after a tiring day. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, picture this:
You have just had a long day at school. You are so tired you feel like lying down on the floor is as soft as feathers. You drag yourself into the living room and turn on your laptop. As it turns on you go to the kitchen to make yourself a hot chocolate. You spot your old diary on top of the microwave. As the kettle boils you flip through the pages. A lovely musty smell seems to emit from it. You grab your hot chocolate and go back into the sitting room, slumping onto the couch. You begin to write a new entry in your diary, pouring everything you did today into the pages.
Now do you see what I’m talking about? Or maybe I just made you want a hot chocolate. Either way, let’s get on with it. My favourite part about diaries is going back through the entries and reading what I did maybe months ago. It always makes me smile! (^^) And you don’t just have to write in them. Drawing pictures for your entries not only helps you remember whatever you’re writing about in that particular entry, it also is a fun way to record how your drawing develops over time.
Well, that’s all I have to say. Do you keep a diary? I would love to know who else shares what makes me smile. Anyway, bye bye! <3

Naming My New Story…?

Oh, hi! Mmm, what should I talk about…? Hey, I actually need your help! I’m writing a new story set in a fantasy land named Nuratara (I couldn’t think of a better name, OK?) and there is a scroll hidden somewhere around the kingdom that supposedly leads you to perfection. A mirror-obsessed girl goes looking for it, but you never know, some other characters might come into the story too… *evil laughter* Anyway, if you have a good idea that you think might work for the story leave it in a comment on this post and if I like it I’ll use it! Well, thanks for helping me with my problem! Oh, I almost forgot! If I choose your idea I’ll make a post about it including whose idea it was. Bye! 🙂
