A few weeks ago we held a class debate while learning about our topic – The Vikings. The topic of our debate was, ‘Were the Vikings good or bad?’ Half of the class took on the role of Viking invaders and the other half were residents of the island of Lindisfarne – one of the first places the Vikings invaded in Britain! The children on both sides made very convincing and passionate points!
When we learn our new spelling sound of the week, we enjoy practicing spelling this sound using active spelling stations. This week we spelled the words with Play Doh, wrote the words in rainbow writing, played spelling pictionary with a partner and looked for other words that contain our spelling sound in the class dictionaries. As you can see – we were all working very hard!
