What a week in Primary 2A! We\u2019ve been busy with symmetry, subtraction, storytelling, and even some outdoor learning!<\/p>\n

Maths & Magic<\/h3>\n

The children have been creating beautiful symmetrical patterns during play using loose parts.<\/p>\n

Pupil Voice:<\/p>\n

“I am making a teddy bear rainbow”<\/p>\n

They also became number line ninjas, jumping backwards to master subtraction. \u201cJump back like a frog!\u201d said one pupil.<\/p>\n

Storytelling with a Twist<\/h3>\n

Our fairytales took a creative spin this week. We have been creating our own characters and changing the ending of old-fashioned fairytales! We have had fairytales involving the Northlink, Pokemon and Vikings!<\/p>\n

Learning Beyond the Classroom<\/h3>\n

We took phonics outside, writing words with chalk and hunting for sounds in nature. \u201cI like being outside when the sun is out!\u201d said a pupil. We also had a virtual tour of Lerwick using Google Maps, spotting different types of houses and discussing what makes each one special. \u201cI saw a house just like mine!\u201d someone excitedly shared.<\/p>\n

Shooting Hoops & Daily Mile<\/h3>\n

We kept active with our Daily Mile and had fun attempting to score hoops. I think we all need some practice though. Only Mrs Henry got one in the net!<\/p>\n

Metaskills in Action<\/h3>\n

From creativity<\/strong> in stories, collaboration<\/strong> in games, sense-making<\/strong> in maps, to critical thinking<\/strong> in phonics, we\u2019ve been learning in so many ways!<\/p>\n
