The visit combined science, fun, and a little bit of magic as the children measured tides, investigated rock pools, and enjoyed the wonders of the seaside.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Morning Mysteries: Investigating High Tide<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We began our adventure in the\u00a0<strong>morning<\/strong>, just as the tide was nearing its highest point. Armed with sticks and big imaginations, the children worked in groups to place their markers at the edge of the water. They were amazed to learn that the\u00a0<strong>moon\u2019s gravitational pull<\/strong>\u00a0helps control the movement of the ocean!<\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;I wonder where the sticks will be when we come back&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8221; Do you think someone will steal them?&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p>After placing our markers, we had time to explore nearby\u00a0<strong>rock pools<\/strong>, where we discovered tiny crabs, slippery seaweed, and even a few shiny shells that looked like treasures.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Afternoon Exploration: Low Tide Discoveries<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When we returned to Sound Beach in the afternoon, the scene had completely changed! The water had pulled far back, exposing\u00a0<strong>sandy stretches<\/strong>\u00a0and more rock pools to explore. The children were thrilled to see how far their sticks were from the water now\u2014it was a powerful visual of the\u00a0<strong>tide&#8217;s movement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;Wow!! Look how far away the water is&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;Look, our stick is still in the sand&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We measured the distance between the morning high tide and the afternoon low tide using\u00a0<strong>footsteps<\/strong>, sparking lots of curiosity about how far the water travels and how the moon manages this incredible feat.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>A Playful Finish<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>After all our hard work measuring and observing, it was time for some\u00a0<strong>well-earned fun<\/strong>!
