The sun was shining so we took the opportunity to draw around our shadows with chalk. We found out that shadows can be made when sunlight is blocked by something and stopped from passing through and reaching a surface on the other side.

As it was such a beautiful day we took the chance to explore the wildlife garden. We have been finding out about invertebrates and minibeasts are a child friendly term for small invertebrates. The pupils could work with a partner to seek out minibeasts. Some pupils were happy to hold them, others preferred to keep their distance. They were reminded to return all minibeasts to their same habitat, with minimum disturbance.
In a short space of time it was amazing what we found! Pupils were observant and keen to share their findings with others!

Our topic is Living Things. It was great to have the opportunity to have a closer look at a snail. It had the most beautiful shell. This led onto us drawing a diagram of a snail and naming the different parts of it.
