Finding out about Creels

Tom Robertson works on a whitefish boat but he also has a shellfish boat.  He came in and told P5 about how creels work. The following notes were made by Brigitte and John.

  • When a crab goes in it can’t get out.
  • You are not allowed to harvest female lobsters.
  • You can catch stuff other than crabs.
  • If you are lucky you can catch one or two crabs in the creel.
  • There is cement in the bottom of the creel to help it sink down.
  • Sometimes you don’t know what you are going to get.
  • You need a license to harvest more than two creels of crabs and lobsters.
