Book Fair
We started the week off by heading to the library to browse through the books at the Book Fair. Our class as part of their leadership role for Literacy Week had helped set up the books. There was plenty of lovely books to choose from. Through the week we helped when other classes were browsing and buying.
Library – eServices
Louise and Louise who work in the library came in to the school to tell us about the Libby and Borrow Box apps that are connected to the Shetland Library. Both these apps have a fantastic selection of books, audio books and magazines. It is totally free! You just need your Shetland Library number and your pin number.
World Book Day
Some pupils (and teachers) dressed up for World Book Day.
We also took in our favourite book to share with the class.
Throughout the day we were working on activities related to our class reader – The Explorer.
Classroom Doors
Every class in the school has decorated their door with a book theme. We did Oliver Twist as we had just finished reading that for our Victorian topic. Here are the other doors in the senior wing.
Character Hunt
Parents were invited into the school to share a favourite book from home. There was also a character hunt
