Royal Navy Stem Event

We had a visit from the Royal Navy last week.  They set up three stations for our class to work around.

Station 1

We had an interesting lesson on submarines.  We found out how many there were and the weight of one submarine.  We found out what was needed to survive on a submarine.

Station 2

We set up our own circuits and made a small part of the circuit fly into the air.

Station 3

This station involved coding.  The right code had to be added to make the Sphero balls move away then return.

Pupil Voice

“The activities were fun!  We made a circuit that allowed a propeller to spin.”

“It was cool finding out how heavy the submarines were and how you could get air out of salt water.”

“We learned how electricity works using the hot wire circuit.”
