{"id":2633,"date":"2024-05-26T11:08:17","date_gmt":"2024-05-26T11:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/sounda2019\/?p=2633"},"modified":"2024-05-26T11:08:17","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T11:08:17","slug":"rnli-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/sounda2019\/2024\/05\/26\/rnli-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"RNLI Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At our recent Stories of the sea Museum we decided to do a fundraiser for the RNLI.\u00a0 Together both P5 classes\u00a0 managed to raise \u00a3192.71.\u00a0 Rhoda Watt came in to collect the cheque.\u00a0 She is part of the fundraiser committee for the Lerwick Lifeboat.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Watt shared some information about the Lerwick lifeboat.\u00a0 It is an all weather lifeboat with two turbo charged engines.\u00a0 It had 18 call outs in 2023 and it has had 11 so far this year.\u00a0 A three hour call out costs the lifeboat \u00a31500 in fuel.\u00a0 The lifeboat relies on donations and legacies to keep going.
