Open Afternoon – Wednesday 5th October

Just a reminder that the school is open from 3:30 – 5:00 for an open afternoon.  Pupils will guide family members/carers around their own classroom and elsewhere in the school! Feel free to go to the art/music hut, the gym and the nursery.  There is some lovely artwork on the walls around the school.  It’s been a long time since you’ve had the chance to wander around the school.

Please enter the school through the classroom fire door and exit through the main school door at the reception.

See you on Wednesday

Term 1 PE

Last week we finished a dodgeball block where we focused on Balance and Control.  We learnt a lot of new games and that to play successfully there are a lot of skills required like –

Dodging, Aiming, Throwing, Catching, Communication, Team work, Decision making, Reacting and more.

We need good balance and control so that we can move and react quickly while staying upright and ready.

Trip to the Cinema

Today our class visited Mareel to watch a film called Jackie and Oopjen.  While wandering around after hours, 12 year old Jackie meets  Oopjen.  Oopjen is from Rembrandt’s famous painting and she has suddenly come to life.  It seems she is looking for her long lost sister.  Below are some thoughts on the film.

Nicholas: It was funny because the painting came to life.

Grace: I thought it was really good as it had subtitles so you knew what they were saying.

Amy: I thought it was amazing because near the end it was really beautiful and touching.

Alfie: It was sad because she had to go back in the picture.  I cried!
