School meals for children in Early Years and Primary 1 to 5 are free. School meals for Primary 6 and 7 are \u00a32.50 and Secondary meals are \u00a33.00. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-237 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/public\/sjhsblog\/uploads\/sites\/3645\/2025\/09\/28133815\/sic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"61\" height=\"61\" \/><\/p>\n<p>School Menus can be viewed here: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/public\/sjhsblog\/uploads\/sites\/3645\/2026\/03\/06140011\/SJHS-Lunch-Menu-2026.pdf.pdf\">SJHS Lunch Menu 2026.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For questions relating to school meals, please contact the school office to discuss.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can contact Shetland Islands Council Catering and Cleaning Service:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>01595 744129<\/li>\n<li>catering@shetland.gov.uk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further information on Free School Meals entitlement and how to apply, please see below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent Pay:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-235 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/public\/sjhsblog\/uploads\/sites\/3645\/2025\/09\/28133806\/parentpay.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"90\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Payment for school milk and\/or meals is made using ParentPay, the online payment platform used by schools in Shetland.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentpay.com\/\">ParentPay \u2013 Leading Cashless Payment System for Schools<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To activate an account on ParentPay, parents\/carers will receive a username and activation code from the school office.<\/p>\n<p>Please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you have questions or queries regarding ParentPay.\u00a0Please be aware that by the end of each school term, milk and meal payments for your child should be up to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clothing Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Clothing Grant is a grant awarded to children from families on a low income to help towards the cost of clothing and footwear.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Clothing Grant awards\u00a0are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Early Years &#8211; \u00a3150<\/li>\n<li>Primary &#8211; \u00a3180<\/li>\n<li>Secondary &#8211; \u00a3225<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pupils who turn 16 on or before 30th September will not be eligible for a Clothing Grant but should apply for an\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shetland.gov.uk\/support-pupils\/ema-bursaries-financial-support\">Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>instead.
