{"id":757,"date":"2026-09-25T15:31:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T14:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/secondary2425\/?p=757"},"modified":"2026-09-25T15:31:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T14:31:57","slug":"virtually-safe-virtually-sound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/secondary2425\/2026\/09\/25\/virtually-safe-virtually-sound\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtually Safe, Virtually Sound"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On Wednesday 16th September, we welcomed a range of visitors to the school to deliver workshops focusing on various aspects of Health and Wellbeing that are particularly relevant to current social issues, including online safety, AI, anti-bullying, hate crime, and smoking and vaping.<\/p>\n<p>Our pupils engaged positively throughout the day and shared the following reflections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Words can make a massive difference to someone&#8217;s life.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It shows how a fun can have consequences.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;We purposely got to break the rules then learn the consequences.\u00a0 Definitely never doing that in real life!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;I learnt that the police can get access to everything.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Vaping can affect your whole body, not just your lungs.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;I like a good debate about the affects of AI.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t know some of these things were crimes.\u00a0 I am going to be kinder to people.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Make it more interactive and hands on.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following video link gives a greater insight into the coverage of the day:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bVe6n_6aEEg\">Whalsay #VSVS event 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to Miss Irvine and all the organisers for a worthwhile event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday 16th September, we welcomed a range of visitors to the school to deliver workshops focusing on various aspects of Health and Wellbeing that are particularly relevant to current social issues, including online safety, AI, anti-bullying, hate crime, and smoking and vaping.
