We have been learning some Survival Skills.<\/p>\n

Kate visited our school and taught us how to start a fire safely in a survival situation.\u00a0 We used flint and steel which isn’t hot but it creates sparks.\u00a0 We each had a go at lighting a cotton wool ball.<\/p>\n

Then we had to safely put the fire out in a bowl of water.<\/p>\n

We learnt that whenever you want to light a fire you should ALWAYS have something to put it out with like water or a fire blanket.<\/p>\n

We also learnt how to make a Den in less than 5 minutes!<\/p>\n

We used climbing rope and tarpaulin.\u00a0 It was tricky tying knots but we enjoyed the challenge.<\/p>\n
