For our homework we picked to do a play about the Blitz. We had 2 weeks to create and practice our play before we had to perform it in front of the class.

The first thing we did was to write a rough script to get an idea of what the play was about. The next thing we did was make the props, we made Kirsty’s bomber plane first then we made bombs out of socks and a sign that read ‘2 days later’. After that we adjusted the script and tried on costumes, we got the costumes from Faye’s Granny Ruby. We also got some inspiration from Faye’s Da George William.

Next we went to Lori’s house and again adjusted the script and showed Faye and Lori’s Mams our play and they said it was BRILLIANT!

The last practice we had was at Kirsty’s house. We did it in front of Kirsty’s Mam, Isla, Granny and Da. They also said it was brilliant!

On the day of the play we were in a hectic rush to try get everything ready before the bell rang for playtime. After playtime we got on our costumes and put in Faye’s plaits.

We used a desk for our Anderson shelter with some material on top and we used the whiteboard for some background effects. Overall we think the play went really well and we all received a merit for our house teams.
