{"id":1067,"date":"2026-05-13T07:39:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T06:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/primary62526\/?p=1067"},"modified":"2026-05-13T07:39:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T06:39:24","slug":"planting-trees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/primary62526\/2026\/05\/13\/planting-trees\/","title":{"rendered":"Planting Trees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a great morning planting trees with support from the Rural Skills class and SAT&#8217;s Woodlands Team.\u00a0 This was part of a local tree planting initiative that is run in partnership with @woodlandtrustscotland Free Tree\u00a0 Packs for schools.<\/p>\n<p>400 native trees were planted at the school.\u00a0 These will eventually provide some shelter on the field.<\/p>\n<p>The trees were locally grown from Shetland collected seed ready for Shetland conditions. The Woodlands team explained how trees helped biodiversity, wildlife and climate resilience.<\/p>\n<p>We had hands on learning outdoors.\u00a0 Learning new skills and concentrating on
