Primary 5/6 Class Blog

Let us share our learning with you.

All About Us

Hi we are primary 5/6 in Whalsay Primary School. Whalsay is an island on the east of Shetland. Whalsay is also known as whale island as it looks like a whale when viewed from the sea.

Our school is very welcoming and everyone looks out for each other. We have classes from Nursery to Primary 7 in the primary department and Secondary 1-4 in the Secondary Department. Mr G Spence is the Head teacher and Mrs L Irvine and Miss P Irvine are the Depute Heads.

Our class is beautiful and bright and everyone should know that we are friendly, helpful, kind, creative, accepting, loyal and respectful. We work hard at all our subjects and Mrs J Irvine, our teacher, is very proud of us.

We learn a lot of different things in our class; Literacy, Maths, French, Topic, Science, PE, Art, Music, Drama, Health and lots of other things. We learn something new every day!

Every Friday we have Golden Time and we work hard to make sure we keep our time! If we break a class rule Mrs Irvine can take 5 minutes away, but we try hard to earn it back.

On Fridays the whole school takes in fruit for Fruity Fridays and we get a merit for our house team if we remember. Our teams are Maalie, Tirrick and Shalder. We earn merits through sports, hard work and good behaviour. At the end of the year the team with the most points gets the shield.

This blog has been set up to keep you informed of our learning and the kinds of activities we enjoy.
