Peerie Makkers
Over the past couple of weeks we have had three groups visit Fernlea Care Centre. The first group to visit was some of our Peerie Makkers. They took their knitting and spent time makkin alongside the day care clients. We are grateful to all the volunteers who support with the Peerie Makkers and for organising this great intergenerational learning activity. Thank you to Fernlea for their hospitality, the homemade shortbread biscuits were delicious!
Fiddle and Choir
Thank you to Eunice for organising the fiddle group to perform to Fernlea residents. This was a super opportunity for the fiddlers from Primary and Secondary departments to showcase the pieces they have been learning.
For the past few weeks, Ms O’Dwyer has been leading a lunch time choir club with Primary pupils who wished to join. The group of 19 pupils performed the songs they have been practising to Fernlea residents and day care clients on the last week of term. Fernlea were very appreciative of their singing and pleased to see the pupils; we would like to thank them for the warm welcome received.
