Art Lesson

In Art Primary 3 have been learning about Primary colours and how we can mix them to make Secondary colours.

We first spent a couple of weeks making many different shades of green, orange, purple and brown.

To reinforce our learning we painted a Shetland Scene using only mixed colours.

This quite tricky as colour mixing can take a while, but I think you’ll agree the class have done extremely well to manage the challenge.

Well done p3!

Art Lesson

In Art Primary 3 have been doing a design project learning about designing and creating their own hat/headdress.

Throughout this project, we have been learning how to research and come up with different designs, which we then evaluated to decide on the best idea.

We then got the basic structure made and decorated it with lots of different materials.  Lots of fun was had exploring the materials and choosing the best ones to create our designs.

The final results were amazing!!! Well done P3

Art Lesson

In art, we have been learning how to form clay to make pinch pots. Once we had formed the shape of our pot, we then decorated it to turn into a little candleholder.

Art Lesson

In Art P3 have been looking at Shetland artist Ruth Brownlee, finding out about her paintings and what inspires her.

We started by experimenting and exploring the paint, trying to find new ways of putting it onto the page.

After a week of exploring, we tried to create our own weather-inspired seascape.

The final results were great!
