Week 4 Gymnastics

We had a few changes to the equipment this week.  The wide box was a section higher, the narrow beam came after the wider benches and at the frame, the ropes were out.  When discussing the equipment set up, we spoke about changes of height, direction and width.

Gymnastics Mats

We spent the first two weeks in gymnastics on the mats developing our floor skills.  We worked on balances, jumps, skills that involved our core muscles, rolls, handstands and cartwheels.  When we have the equipment out, we will have more time on the mats to continue developing these skills.

PE

Racket Activities

We have spent the second half of the term doing racket activities.  We have used tennis, badminton and table tennis equipment to develop our individual hitting and basic sending and receiving with a partner.

Swimming

This term P3 have had their swimming block.  We focused on developing their ability in front and back crawl.  Everybody is showing great improvements in confidence and technique.  Well done.  A great block in the pool.

PE 23rd September 2024

P3A are working on racket activities at the moment in PE.  This week they put so much effort in, working so hard, that Mrs Ritchie gave the class a Super Effort certificate.

Racket Activities

We are developing our hitting in tennis, table tennis and badminton, using the different equipment to hit to ourselves and forward to others and targets.

Large Ball skills

In PE we have started the year with large ball skills.  Through activities and games we have been working on developing our basic skills of throwing, catching, bouncing, kicking and aiming.
