It has been a busy week in P1/2, we have been busy settling in and catching up with our friends.

This week we have been learning about spring and we have been looking for signs of spring in our local environment. On Wednesday we went for a walk and in our groups used a checklist to spot different signs of spring. Everyone was excited when we saw a new lamb! Back in the class we used our experience to write and draw about what we saw.

We have also been learning about area and using loose parts to work calculate, compare and contrast different areas.  We were surprised that different shapes can sometimes have the same area. I was impressed how well the children worked together, co-operating to take turns and discuss their answers.
